Great climb with the climbing crew from Academia Cotopaxi.
Cayambe is a beautiful mountain, almost directly on the Ecuator. It's a lot less trafficked than Cotopaxi, but has really interesting features and amazing views.
The road up is not to be taken lightly - rutted and steep, with some crazy drops on the sides.
The refugio is almost invisible against the rocks. We spent two nights there to get ourselves better acclimatized to the elevation.
