The first time climbing Illiniza Norte, training of the Cotopaxi climb in December. It's one of the "medium" Ecuadorian peaks at 5,125 meters. We had great conditions, albeit a bit cloudy when reached the top after the rocky scramble just below. One of my favorites, as it's a beautiful peak with very cool features, you get a cool hike through the paramo, and amazing views all around. You do have to watch out in the scree field on the way down though. It's kind of a bowling alley, and I found myself diving out of the way of a pretty large rock that came rolling down.
