I had the good fortune to attend the GreenBiz Group Verge 2023 Climate Tech Conference for the first time In San Jose, CA. Amazing three days. Learned tons. Spent time with a bunch of cool people. Still processing all my thoughts and notes but some highlights:
- Kicking things off planting trees at Veggielution Farm.
- Panels with insights on nature-based solutions from technologists and indigenous leaders.
- Main stage talks on climate justice by local advocates, youth climate leaders, the federal EPA, and California officials.
- Tour of the Guadalupe River Restoration area and drinks with like minded nature lovers.
- Discussions on the state of carbon markets amidst the turbulence of the last year and where things are heading next.
- Learning about the current state of climate investing from members of leading firms.
- Demos of microgrid tech that were being used to help power the conferenceAnd so much more.
Some thanks: Josh Seidenfeld, Dave Bren, Ross Bernet, One Tree Planted, Point Blue Conservation Science, MRV Collective, Calyx Global, the panelists, leaders and organizers of this amazing and inspiring event!
